Marriage Registration in China

The applicant who will go to China for marriage registration shall apply for a single/non-marital status certificate. The applicant who is a Chinese citizen shall apply for a certificate in accordance with requirements of Notary Certificate of Single Status.

 

How to apply

1. An Affidavit of Single Status signed before a Notary Public.

   2. Legalized by the Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

3. Legalized by the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain.

 · You may come to the Embassy for application, or entrust a representative to apply for you. No appointment is required.

 

Documents to be included with applications:

1. Application Form of Consular Legalization of the Chinese Embassy

2. The above-mentioned Affidavit of Single Status, and a photocopy of the paper where the notary public and certification officer signs and stamps from the Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

   3. Photocopy of the applicant's Passport, Residence Permit and Bahrain CPR (If a representative comes, photocopy of the representative's Passport, Residence Permit and Bahrain CPR are also necessary). 

 

 

Fees and processing time

Fees

BD8 for Civil documents, e.g. Adoption, marriage, birth/death certificate kinship, etc.

BD15 for Property or Commercial documents, e.g. Business license, labor agreement, inheritance, property transfer, etc.

The regular processing time is 6 working days.

For express service is 2-5 days, additional fees of BD8,

For Rush Service is 1 day,additional fees of BD12 (Should be approved by the Consular Officer)

 

Payment

Please pay by Cash, Bahrain Dynar only.

 

Additional information

· The applicant may only apply for an Affidavit of Single Status.

· The applicant shall apply for the authentication from the Chinese Embassy within 3 months after the Affidavit of Single Status being notarized by the notary public. The Affidavit of Single Status is valid for 6 months after being authenticated by the Chinese Embassy.

· According to the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China, the minimum marriage ability age is 22 for men and 20 for women.
