Bahraini Painter attends "Famous Arab Painters Workshop in China"

    A prominent Bahraini painter, Mr. Abdulrahim Sharif, is now in China to attend "Famous Arab Painters Workshop in China".

 

    Based on the 2008-2012 Action Plan of China Arab Cooperation Forum, the workshop aims to promote the continous development of the cultural links between China and Arab countries. By inviting since 2009 famous Arab painters to visit China, where they can draw paintings and exchange views with their Chinese counterparts on various cultural and art issues, the workshop has played a very positive part in constructing the culture exchange mechanism within the framework of China Arab Cooperation Forum.

 

    This year, nearly 20 famous Arab painters from Bahrain, Lebanon, Algeria, Iraq, Oman, Jordan, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Kuwait, Comoro and other Arab coutries will go to Beijing, China's capital city, and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, a Muslim province which is known for its picturesque landscape of the Yellow River, desert, swamp, grassland, and the cultural heritage of the mausoleums of Xixia Dynasty.

 

    Mr. Sharif graduated from Parsons School of Design, NY. USA with a Master of Fine Arts Degree. Duing the past 20 years, he has won dozens of Award and Medals on drawing in Barhain, Kuwait and France, and has held about 100 Solo Exhibitions across the globe.

 

    This trip of Mr. Sharif to China, is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of China, and theBahraini Culture Ministry.
