21 September – The Chinese Embassy in Bahrain held a grand reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Nearly 600 guests attended the event, including H.E. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and H.E. Fatima bint Jaffer Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and  other senior government officials, members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of Chinese companies, Confucius Institute teachers and overseas Chinese.

In his remarks, the Ambassador reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made since its founding, outlined the current sound momentum of China’s economic development and its high-standard opening up, and highlighted President Xi Jinping’s Global Governance Initiative and its far-reaching significance. He spoke highly of the progress in China-Bahrain cooperation over the past year and reaffirmed that China is ready to strengthen strategic alignment with Bahrain to advance the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership.

The reception was marked by creative touches and brilliant highlights. The Chengdu Art Troupe staged a dazzling performance, bringing together intangible cultural heritage and high technology. Guests hailed China’s tremendous development and praised the distinctive program, expressing hopes for greater progress in China-Bahrain cooperation. Bahrain’s major media outlets covered the event extensively.
